The Thing Kids Do and Say
Posted by admin on Saturday Oct 22, 2011 Under UncategorizedIt amazes me the things kids do and say. The other day we had a friend over looking at our new house. His name is Stuart and he had his son Alex with him. On their departure we were saying our goodbyes. My two year old happily said goodbye to Alex and then went back to what she was preoccupied with. We asked her to say goodbye to Stuart to which she replied “Goodbye Stupid”. At times like these it is so hard not to laugh…luckily our friend Stuart has a great sense of humor and no offence was taken.
My friend Sally has created this wonderful veggie garden filled with every type of imaginable vegetable. She has some Brussels Sprout growing and for those of you who don’t know the edible sprouts grow off the main stem. Her four year old excitedly pointed out “Look Mommy, the mommy plant is piggy backing all the babies.”
When my daughter first started to watch and take an interest in TV she was about 18 months old. Her favorite program was “In the Night Garden”. I thought it would be a nice present to get her a stuffed toy of the main character Igglepiggle. While the program was on TV I gave her the toy and her reaction was definitely not what I expected. To my amazement she was absolutely horrified. She ran up to the TV and put the toy up to the screen and screamed “Put Back In, Put Back In”. To her he obviously belonged in the TV and she couldn’t understand why she was holding him.
The saying “from the mouth of babes” is so true. It just adds to the joy of Raising Children.
